HSE & Defensive Driving Training

A two-day refresher for our drivers, loading crew and outlet staff, run by our HSE team at the head office training room. Moving petroleum products is unforgiving of shortcuts, and the point of this session is to keep the procedures live rather than let them sit in a folder.

What the session covers

• Defensive driving — hazard perception, safe following distances, and handling a loaded tanker on poor road surfaces
• Journey management — route planning, rest discipline and what to do when a planned route is blocked
• Product handling — loading, securing, and discharge procedure for white products and LPG
• Emergency response — spill containment, fire response, and the first ten minutes of an incident
• Documentation — pre-trip inspection sign-off, loading tickets and waybills
• Review — incidents and near misses from the period, discussed openly

Who should attend

• Directloading drivers and loading crew — attendance is required
• Outlet supervisors and depot staff
• Customer HSE officers, as observers — you are welcome to see how we work before we deliver to your site

Certificates of attendance are issued at the end of the second day. If you are a customer and would like a place for your safety officer, ask your account officer or send us a message.
