LPG Safety Awareness Outreach

A community outreach at selected outlets on the safe handling of cooking gas. Most LPG incidents in the home do not begin with the cylinder — they begin with a perished hose, a regulator that was never seated properly, or a cylinder stored on its side. This session is about the things that are cheap to fix and expensive to ignore.

What happens on the day

• Free cylinder safety checks — bring your cylinder and we will inspect the valve, hose, clamp and regulator
• Leak testing demonstrated, so you can do it yourself at home with soapy water
• Safe storage — upright, ventilated, away from heat, and why each of those matters
• What to do if you smell gas — the order of actions, and the ones to avoid
• Replacing fittings — how often, and what a worn hose actually looks like

Who it is for

• Households using cooking gas — no purchase necessary
• Small food businesses, canteens and roadside kitchens
• Estate managers and landlords responsible for shared kitchens

Open to everyone and free to attend. Cylinders that fail inspection will be flagged, and we will explain the options rather than simply refusing to fill them.
